I think originally I felt I’d just discover it was by a celebrated court artist of the day and pay off my mortgage but it’s clearly not as easy as Philip Mould makes it look

alongside an illustrated volume

I bought this from the great Grant Waters the author of the eponymous Art Dictionary and it has hung in my last two houses

This sculpture is in our Cecil Court gallery

Priestley and Thesiger and the result was exhibited that year at his solo show with the Goupil Gallery
