Of the hundreds of Adams’ paintings I’ve seen over the decades this yellow explosion of sunflowers is the one I wanted to own

Morrocco clearly enjoyed spending time there as it was a subject he returned to often

as he is internationally collected and sits in many public collections including the Tate and what’s more was a much respected professor of painting at the Royal Academy Schools

We will never know whether this was a friend

many of his oils were on the smaller scale and the majority depicting beautiful women he encountered in the Café Society around Brussels
